Sponsor A Child
Being a sponsor is an opportunity to love and support a child who might otherwise be destitute. It is a chance for you to become involved in their life and take on the role of an aunt, uncle or cousin… The children at Hogar Tierra Santa have very limited contact with adults and/or families, and so, your relationship with them will be very, very special.
The children look forward with great anticipation to all communication and caring from you and your family members. We hope you will chose to become a part of this program and in so doing, know you will greatly enhance the life of a child.

TSSI sponsorship programs currently available include:
- Senior Sponsor: Your donation of $50.00 per month allows you to choose a child currently not sponsored. Your montly donation will help cover a portion of that child’s basic daily living expenses.
- Junior Sponsor: Your donation of $25.00 per month will cover a smaller portion and you will share with another person (also $25 mo) the sponsorship of the child you choose.
- Happy Faces Nutrition Program: Your donation of $10.00 per month will help cover the costs of keeping this important program going. Happy Faces, (aka: the Comedor) is a nutritional food program supported by Hogar Tierra Santa to provide a noon meal for undernurized pre school children in the village. You cannot choose a specific child.
When you send in your Sponsorship payment, the money will go into the General Support fund for the home. These monies are used to cover the daily expenses of running the home: food, clothing, medical, staff payroll, utilities, supplies, repairs, etc. The money is NOT given to your individual child.
Besides your monetary donation, we ask that you also write to the child you are sponsoring. This is where the connection really comes in and the experience becomes
personally rewarding for everyone in your family. Your child at Hogar Tierra Santa will LOVE to receive your letters and family photos. They too, will write beautiful and loving letters back.
At Christmas and birthday time, we ask that you send your child a gift. These gifts are usually held until Christmas day or when quarterly birthday parties are celebrated. At that time, all children whose birthdays are within a certain time period will receive the gifts they have been sent by their sponsors.
